Manchester City zvíťazil v nedeľu vo finále Carabao Cupu na štadióne Wembley nad Arsenalom 2:0 a zdvihol tak prvú veľkú poctu v sezóne.
Od úvodného ročníka súťaže v roku 1961 vyhralo City trofej deväťkrát – žiadny iný tím okrem Liverpoolu (10-násobný šampión) nezískal viac.
Tím Pepa Guardiolu tiež vyhral sedem z posledných 13 ročníkov súťaže, z toho štyrikrát za sebou v rokoch 2018 až 2021.
Pre Gunners neokúsili úspech v tejto súťaži ani ich hráči, ani ich manažér Mikel Arteta (tím nevyhral od roku 1987).
